Dawnwalker Bosses: Ambrus, Bakir, Xanthe & Brencis
Spoiler-marked boss route, unlock conditions, trophy links and safe preparation for the three Court vassals and Brencis.
The standard campaign route provokes and defeats Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe through their Court Activities, then confronts Brencis. Save before each boss, enter with repaired equipment and healing, and treat specific attack-by-attack tactics as provisional until retail-build testing is reproducible.
Boss and ending spoiler warning
This page identifies boss order, confrontation names and final-route links. It does not describe ending cinematics, but it will spoil the identity of the main campaign targets.
We separate confirmed unlock structure from tactics. Official character material verifies the four vampires; launch walkthrough and trophy evidence verify the Court route. We are not presenting untested move lists as fact.
Boss route at a glance
The three vassals can be approached non-linearly. The order below reduces route risk based on the first complete launch walkthrough, while Brencis remains technically available much earlier.
| Boss | How the fight is reached | Associated trophy | Preparation checkpoint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ambrus | Raise Ambrus anger through Court Activities | The Right Fist of the Knyaz | Manual save before the duel |
| Bakir | Raise Bakir anger through Court Activities | The Mad Khan | Save before entering the games |
| Xanthe | Raise Xanthe anger; begin The Cycle of Love | The Dark Mistress | Save before committing to the named quest |
| Brencis | Defeat the three vassals or attempt the castle early | Ending-dependent trophies | Permanent save before the final branch |
Ambrus preparation
Ambrus is the youngest of Brencis's group and the first target in the level-conscious launch route. His region includes supply destruction, prisoner rescues and dungeon activities; complete enough to maximize his anger and unlock the duel.
Before entering, repair the weapon you actually use, refill healing, spend unallocated skill points and preserve a manual save. The trophy wording requires killing Ambrus in a duel, so do not assume an alternate outcome satisfies it.
- Recommended route position: first
- Court range reported for level 1+
- Trophy: The Right Fist of the Knyaz
- Verification status: unlock route confirmed by multiple launch guide pages; detailed moves pending retail testing
Bakir preparation
Bakir is presented officially as one of Brencis's strongest lieutenants and a warmonger. His Court work includes headhunters, transports, distilleries and pillories before the confrontation during his games.
Enter with a fresh save and enough consumables for a longer encounter sequence. The trophy specifically ties the kill to the games; preserve the pre-quest save in case an optional decision changes the route.
- Recommended route position: second
- Trophy: The Mad Khan
- Confrontation context: Bakir's games
- Verification status: route and trophy wording cross-checked; attack timings pending retail testing
Xanthe preparation
Xanthe is officially the oldest vampire in the clique, with a connection to voices beyond the pale. Her Court column includes recruiters, excavations, blood guards and more elaborate vision or gargoyle activities.
The named confrontation is The Cycle of Love. Because Xanthe's chain intersects story-heavy activities and secret-ending material, use a separate save before starting it rather than relying on the latest autosave.
- Recommended route position: third
- Trophy: The Dark Mistress
- Named quest: The Cycle of Love
- Verification status: Court route confirmed; outcome-sensitive details remain spoiler-protected
Brencis and final branch
Brencis is the ruler of Vale Sangora and the final campaign target. Rebel Wolves confirms that the castle can be stormed immediately after the prologue, but the intended preparation loop is to explore, gain allies, improve Coen and weaken the Court.
For normal completion, defeat the three vassals, then wait for the final contact and preserve a manual save before entering the Brencis route. Lacra and Crake preparation controls two of the reported ending branches, while solo and deal routes cover the others.
- Early challenge: possible immediately after the prologue
- Standard route: defeat Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe first
- Keep a permanent save before A Deal with the Devil
- Prepare Lacra and Crake before final commitment if collecting endings
What we will not guess
Boss health values, elemental weaknesses, phase breakpoints and exact parry windows are not included until they can be reproduced on the patched retail build. Preview footage and a single walkthrough are not enough to label those details confirmed.
After launch verification, this hub will link to individual fight pages only where we can provide tested positioning, loadout and recovery advice that adds value beyond a transcript of someone else's video.
Frequently asked questions
What order should you fight Dawnwalker bosses?
The first complete launch walkthrough recommends Ambrus, then Bakir, then Xanthe. Brencis follows on the standard route, although he can be challenged immediately after the prologue.
Do you have to defeat all three Court bosses?
They are the standard route to draw out Brencis and are tied to story trophies. The game also officially permits an extremely difficult early Brencis attempt.
Should you save before every boss?
Yes. Use separate manual slots before Ambrus, Bakir, Xanthe and the final Brencis branch because choices, trophies and endings can diverge.
Are the detailed boss weaknesses confirmed?
Not yet on this page. We only publish move-specific tactics after reproducible retail-build verification.
Facts are linked to first-party publisher, developer, or storefront pages. Launch-watch details remain labeled until an official listing or reproducible retail-build test confirms them.
