A fast route to every core Witchcraft ability, the merchants who sell extra manuals and the activities that unlock the strongest hexes.
Anca grants Compel Soul, Astral Communion, Burning Blood and Mercurial Fervour during the prologue. The remaining core abilities come from Ancient Circles, Haunted Sites and Pilgrimage of Power quests; extra copies for upgrades are also sold by Anca, Vera, Mevasser, the Uriash Matriarch and later regional merchants.
What unlocks automatically
Near the end of the prologue, Anca unlocks four Witchcraft abilities: Compel Soul, Astral Communion, Burning Blood and Mercurial Fervour. Do not spend time searching the early map for manuals simply to open those four base skills.
Manuals found afterward unlock the remaining abilities or add upgrade access. Witchcraft remains part of Coen's shared ability-point economy, so collect first and spend only after deciding which effects support the build.

Fast manual route
Begin west of Laslea Gate with Pilgrimage of Power: Bear Trouble for Ravenous Flock. Continue to the Ancient Circle east of Maragir for Soul Reaping, then sweep the southern and western activities for Soul Stigma, Unholy Vitality and Cycle of Ruin.
Several abilities have multiple sources. The route below favors guaranteed activity rewards or fixed chests instead of waiting for a later merchant.

Witchcraft merchants
Anca becomes a merchant at the Crossroads Inn after Echoes of Silenced Bells. Vera is in the eastern Briar Sloughs swamp, southeast of Mert's Mill. Mevasser is unmarked inside a house in Neustadt, beside the stone archway near the square with the tree.
The Uriash Matriarch becomes available through Lacra's Song of the Mountain. The Sanzhana merchant requires the Gone Home and Letters to Lunka chain. Merchant inventories are most useful for duplicate manuals and upgrades after the base route is complete.

Easy manuals to miss
Cycle of Ruin has a copy inside Xanthe's mansion in the upper-left lantern room during The Cycle of Love. Another can be obtained after Svetlana in Silts Tower. Ravenous Flock has an additional Pilgrimage of Power source in northeast St. Tyna's Grove.
Open every activity chest before leaving and check the skill screen immediately. If the manual is an upgrade copy rather than a new ability, its effect may appear as a newly available node rather than a separate inventory item.
